a series of unfortunate events.

well i haven't written for 7 days...

and i'm now writing becuz i've had a VERY BAD day.

lemme list what's happened to me:

1) screwed up in maths. got mrs haighton. yipee indeed. ok she's not THAT bad but she doesn't explain well. oh ok, say my understanding ability is low... it is quite actually everyone else seems to get it after a few repeats but i just had to take it back to the house in order to work those problems out discreetly.

2) fell down in netball. TWICE. my forehead went straight onto the ground with a THUD on the second time, when i tripped over. now i've got wounds on my arm, hand and forehead. and they begin to call me harry potter... rita said she wanted a bruise like mine, even. but somehow i disagree with her when ppl looked at it and went "oh dear... ouch". and i could see it after i've got back to the cloakies too... looks like some sorta minature blood capillary map engraved in my forehead. great. i hope i won't need plastic surgery before my wedding day.

3) my beloved watch kinda cracked. i love my watch! dad gave it to me on father's day... yeah i know i should've given him something instead but hey that's why this watch is DIFFERENT! and now i can't use it as i fear that i'd break it into two if i'm not careful.

4) went to mr wylde in the hope of getting my wireless fixed. it did work, and then i froze AGAIN. oh well at least i get the cable connection here so i dun have to worry about wireless just yet.

5) the fire alarm went while eva and i were in the shower. perhaps i should consider myself lucky becuz i haven't started putting on ny shampoo yet.

6) it's 12 days till SATs. ok this is not really related to the events happened today... but hey it fits the "unfortunate" category.

ugh... i ought have a better day tmr.

please pray for vivianne!

i've heard from jackie and sheila that vivianne luk @ DGS has got into a coma after the car crash... please please please pray for her... although i must say that i dun know her that well really, but i really hope she can get better soon!

gosh... u never know what's gonna happen next do you... life can be scary sometimes.

really busy these days... look i've been for 2 weeks and a bit now and i've only typed 6 entries. that's around 0.4 posts per day... how sad. -.- mainly becuz of the SATs and the fluctuating internet system in poulton which prevents me to get addicted to the internet.

i'm going to london on the 1st and 8th of october... god think about the train fees... but i can't help it cuz there's this US conference thing organised by the fulbright commission on the 1st, and miss webb's gonna take us there. the 8th's my SAT test day... yikes. 18 days to go. only done what, 3 tests out of 11. and my writing and verbal sections suck so much. ugh* (tho im not aiming for perfection in the first time... i just dun wanna let myself down too much or end up doing more than 2 times of SAT Is.)

so melody i gotta get in contact with u asap i need the accomodation. heehee... jk jeh... u back yet? i read ur xanga recently btw... u're like the only one whom i can read about in my email subscriptions, strange enough... the others i dun reli care about lol... subscribed too many ppl, many being my long-lost friends... sigh*

oh i gotta talk about maths. UGH* well i know half the class has already done DIFFERENTIATION but the OTHER half has NOT. so annoyed now the half including me has to work mega-hard after lessons to sort out what calculus is... i mean, i dun even reli get why we have to differentiate things. i'm hopeless. but working at THAT speed i can't understand a bit until i examine the notes in a peaceful corner in my dorm. seeing dy/dx makes me sick... and guess what, we've just had 2 lessons on it and mrs haighton kinda wants to finish the topic off now.

anywayz... lecture on ET tonite. hope it's good or i'd be mad. wasting my 2 precious hours in the evening is a BIG sin.

die SAT!!

haha... i agree with u vincent SATs r killing me too... sighhh... i was so bad at the critical reading section, not to mention the even-worse writing section... perhaps i just lack intelligence at verbal sections... maths isn't perfect either cuz i'm careless. =.="

oh dearrrrr 23 days away. dead dead dead. x_X"

i couldn't even spare time to take my laptop outta my wardrobe these days... haven't bothered to go onto the internet becuz well, prep's been piling sky-high and each SAT test (i'm already sparing the essay section for later) takes more than 3 hours. bloody hell. if u try to do it in one go like what i did yesterday u end up sleeping at 12:30 each night. i dun wanna work too hard either but that's the price u gotta pay if u're doing SATs in October!

anyway enuf moans and groans for now... we've just started differentiation in maths. half the class has probably learnt it. it's just... confusing. (that's another groan actually)

think i better go for learning for life. chao*

we went bowling today ah... kidna funny cuz it's combined with karaoke before... we were expecting mrs leggate to sing but she didn't what a SHAME... lol... but we were brave enuf to sing... rita n i sang american idiot together (n i just kinda stood and sang the chorus quietly while she "plays the guitar" and "rocked"...wakaka) and helen, bonnie and i sang white flag. a couple of new girls got reli high and sang too... kinda funny*

bowling was quite fun too... obviously i wasn't very good... but hey that's not the point~ =P

hmmm more later.

decision...!

i made a decision today... hope it wouldn't be too disappointing to u guys... i decided not to do SAT II until next year... in other words i'm giving up the chance of going to the US at the end of this year. i thought it was too impossible to complete the test becuz i haven't even done AS yet, and for the 3 subjects i'm choosing (phy chem and maths) i'd be at a great disadvantage. i think i shud accept a lot of ppl's opinion - i'll do my SAT IIs next year when i finished my AS course, possibly in August as well, so i get more confidence and would not waste my effort for nothing in november.

i know u did it before joan, but i must say it's rather impossible for me... perhaps becuz we're looking at different subject areas. just dun wanna rush myself too much this year. since i'm looking at going to the US anyway i wouldn't mind staying one more year in the UK at all... n i can decide whether to stay in the UK for uni or not. if i were to go to the US, i wonder if i can squeeze a 4-year course into a 3-year course so i wouldn't waste so much money?

anyway i'm going to do my SAT I this term still... and hope i'd complete it with a decent score. if not i mite do it again in november! in this case i wouldn't forget most of the vocab the second time. and without the panic with essays n SAT IIs my load's lighter...

but SAT I isn't easy either though... the verbal section is reli scary. -.-"

btw i got onto msn today... lol... think it's gonna be banned soon cuz everyone knows about it anyway... so i guess it doesn't matter if i grasped the opportunity eh? =p chatted to some ppl... aiii reli miss u guys!!

thanks melo and joan for such long and caring replies ah... :') ho gum dung ah* haha*

troubled.

Dear Summie,

Thank you for your email and interest in Johns Hopkins. Although we do not have a policy that states one must apply during the final year of A levels, it is extremely rare that we would admit someone in Lower Sixth with only GSCE scores.

About 98% of our applicants from the British system apply to us in their Upper Sixth year. They include their GCSE/O level results, internal school grades (if they have any), and predicted A level scores. I cannot think of the last time we admitted someone in Lower Sixth.

Therefore, in order to save you time, effort, and the application fee, I recommend that you apply next year.

Sincerely,
Rachel Cowan

i reli think that i shud apply next year instead of this year if i reli wanna go to the US. how on earth did u manage to get into georgetown joan? every university that i've asked about said it would be better to apply next year after i've done my A Levels!

melody... i wonder if u have the same feeling back when u were a L6 then... i'm already experiencing pressure from classes cuz many new comers have done the stuff we're learning now before... knew this would happen, but it just gets a bit scary.

compulsary bowling n karaoke for L6 this sunday. =.=" went to this bowling arena in worcester last term n it appeared to be like a public toilet from the outside.

thursday~*

lol melody n joan it's back to u guys again, my two very loyal friends who read my blog a lot, heehee*

thursday... just had a complete day of lessons, finally. altho my drum lesson's missed out today cuz the teacher isn't back yet. sigh* (so nope it's not mr H teaching me =p)

had physics and chemistry... its so different now since angie's not in any of my classes anymore apart from maths, not even for the learning for life classes. (hey we've been in the same classes since primary 1!!) and im sitting on my own most of the time in chem cuz we have odd numbers. sitting on the front row as well. -.-" can't fall asleep then, damn.

been doing MOLES today... ugh think i've forgotten what i've learnt for GCSE. im sure the new girls found our work reli easy... a bit scared now, perhaps i'd need to catch up in the future! ><"

still haven't had my maths lesson i'm sure it'd be even a greater shock. T_T

now that the middle school ppl (wahaha i'm not one anymore!) r back the schools seem much busier! i get quite a lot of free time which i spend in my dorm. gotta do more SAT stuff tho... i've kinda started last night... started at 10:30pm. so yeah u know how limited it is, what i've read thru last night.

flute ensemble later. they put me back in, couldn't find an excuse to quit. hmmm fun.

Back 2 School*

now in poulton... teeheehee...

i'm sharing a dorm with Eva again!! hurrah! and our dorm is reli reli big... ppl from the lower floor r envying us. wakaka*

just had a reli boring meeting with the house staff concerning the sixth form handbook. ugh... 1 hour and 15 minutes. as if we're still 3 years old. tuh.

these two day's been good... got to know quite a lot of new ppl. there was annabel, chun zi, jia, karmen, vanessa etc etc... ranging from germany to hong kong, malaysia, burma and china. cool eh?

registered with the subject teachers today and have already got given books from the chem and phy dept. BIG piles... kinda putting me off. sounds like a year with lotsa work to me. sigh*

i dun wanna start revising for SATs... but everyone knows that i shud start very soon. talked to miss webb about applying to american universities and she told me to meet her on the 12th. not too late i guess... it's impossible to arrange it this week anyway cuz everyone's sorting things out. quite hectiv reli.

i'm looking foward to receiving my new timetable... sounds a bit freaky but i'm actually feeling a bit insecure without one, lol* i wanna join so many things... not sure if i can manage all of them... kung fu, photography, ECDL, Young Enterprise, D of E...

new term, new start. gotta work hard, play hard. X)
